at Sheffield Town Hall, Room G46 (left of the main foyer), Pinstone Street, Sheffield

This workshop looks at the dance of attachment between children with an early history of trauma and their care givers. The session will look at secure attachment: the gold standard, attachment development and its implications for care giving; attachment types; going crazy together – the impact of attachment disorder in care giving; attachment in our brains and therapeutic parenting against the odds.
Sue’s career as a child psychologist has spanned over 35 years working with children, their families and carers in education, social services and health authorities. Now in independent practice, Sue has a particular interest in applying the practical principles of attachment theory and therapy into facilitating a new and healthy dance of attachment for children suffering the effects of early trauma and their carers/parents.
